Christmas Photo Wallet!

Photo Wallet Finished

It’s almost time to start considering what special hand-stamped items you would like to create as Christmas gifts!  Photo Wallet Open 550Actually, this idea is well-suited for many gift-giving occasions.  Just collect 3 pictures or even 6 … decide on an appropriate theme, and create your own photo wallet for Grandparents, new parents, Aunts, Uncles, friends, teachers … the list is really endless.   I created this Christmas-themed wallet for a recent Splitcoast Tutorial.  all specific instructions and measurements can be found right here:  Splitcoast Tutorial Photo Wallet.   We even have a “printer friendly” version of the tutorial available through that link.  While you’ll find the specific details for cutting, etc. on the tutorial, I’ll include extra photos here, to enable you to better see the inside.    As always, clicking on the smaller photos will pop up a larger version for you.  *wink*

The wallet is held closed with the embellished “belt”.  I’ve layered a strip of Certainly Celery cardstock atop Purely Pomegranate cardstock, adhered the ends to fit the wallet, and embellished with cut & layered floral images.  These images are attached to a base of Scalloped Punches in Celery, covering the seam on the belt itself.

Photo Wallet Open 550This is a full view of the inside, with the photo covers closed.    I’ve done everything with stamps on this wallet, but of course, you have the option of using Designer Series papers as well.  Since I stamped and embellished the interior photo covers before attaching them inside the folds of the wallet, it was easy to add some heat embossed images with Heat & Stick Powder and Dazzling Diamonds glitter before the final arrangement was settled.

.Photo covers are open

You’ll create an area on the inside of each photo cover that will allow space for journaling or for additional photos.

And finally, you will see Photo Cover #3 below.   The bottom flap simply folds up into the mid-section, which folds up to the top section, and the top flap folds down over all.  The belt is the “tie that binds”, and can be as simple or as ornate as you would like!

Photo Cover #3I welcome you to link your wallet creations here, whether they are on your blog, or uploaded to our special SCS Photo Wallet gallery.  I would love to see your creations!
