Sparkling Snowflake * LSC144
This week over at Splitcoaststampers, the limited supplies challenge (LSC144) designated using a small stamp of 1.5″ square or smaller and optional sentiment. I’ve been wanting to try something like this for a while, sampling how I could add some fun with my Nestabilities dies. I really do appreciate the ease of lining up the Nestabilities. They truly are easier to set up the correct position than you might think. This card is cut as a 6″ square, and fits easily into the small open-end envelopes by Stampin’ Up! When making your score for the fold, be sure to test the paper by trying a “taco fold”. Do this from each side … and the side that gives in easily tells you where the score should be. This score will fold smoothly, without cracking. I layered the Bayou Blue C/S with the Figgy paper, laid them onto the card base, then laid the snowflake image piece atop. After tracing lightly around the snowflake image piece, I selected the die that would best fit around that line. Admittedly, it was tricky to cut through both the cardstock and the patterned paper at one time. Ribbon was added to the C/S layer before adhering it to the card. After stamping the sentiment, Martha Stewart’s white glitter was added to the printed paper and the edges of the snowflake image piece, followed by a bit piercing around the image. Sounds like a lot of writing …. but it’s really a pretty quick little card! I hope you enjoy!
