Celebrate the Simple Life!
Wow! I can hardly believe that I’m saying this .. but I actually won a set of stamps from the new Unity Stamps company! Even though the stamps aren’t available for purchase just yet … the owner of the company is holding weekly giveaways on her blog. I still can hardly believe that I got lucky … in a stamper kind of way! lol
This is my first project with the “Only Me” set. Even though it isn’t snowcone weather just yet … I think this stamp will evoke smiles for sure. This set is unmounted, so all I had to do was peel off the backing from the cling foam and ink it up! The snowcone is all one stamp, so first I dry embossed some More Mustard cardstock with the Cuttlebug. Then I stamped two images onto the embossed cardstock, using Palette Burnt Umber ink. Next, I stamped two images on Pretty in Pink cardstock, using Regal Rose ink (SU). The first image was adhered directly to the white oval, with the 2nd snowcone adhered atop the 1st, using foam tape.
For the dimpled look on the top flap, I used my Empressor stylus and a small dot from a brass template to dry emboss random dimples over the flap. I’ve added paper piercing along the sides, as well as on the scalloped edges of the oval layers. White ink dots were also added to the pink oval. This card stays closed with Basic Grey magnetic closures. One is located behind the image ovals, and the partner magnet is hidden behind the white interior layer. The card design is soooooo simple and quick! It is this week’s Technique Challenge TSC161 at SCS. C’mon along and play! Plus … Rose Ann Reynolds created a super-simple tutorial for Scor-Pal. I followed her tutorial precisely, without a snag at all! Great toot, Rose Ann!
