HSCAPR1 – Tool Time Hanna’s Surprise!

Published by at 10:24 pm under Hanna Challenges,Hanna Stamps

HSCAPR1 Tool Time Hanna challenge frontI hope that you were able to be with us tonight in the SCS Hanna Forum for our new release party!  If not … you still have plenty of time to play in the two challenges we presented!  Entries will not be judged for prizes until Sunday evening … so you’ve got lots of time to check out the challenges & stamp!    I presented the following challenge:  Create a card using either Riley stamps or Hanna Stamps, leaving the opening edge at least 1/2″ shorter than the back side.  Your card can be either vertical or horizontal for this challenge!  So, no matter what images you have, you can play along!  This is my sample for that challenge.

I’ve used May Arts Ribbon from StarLitStudio as the closure for my card.  That’s why I’ve left the bow tails a wee bit longer than normal.  IRL, it matches the papers much better, but in the evening indoor lights, it appears to have a greater contrast. Fiskars decorative HSCAPR1 Tool Time surprise side 510scissors were used to create the edge on my opening edge, as well as the layering paper on the inside edge.  Tex’s Tip:  When using decorative scissors, use your ruler to draw a light, straight pencil line on the back side of your papers, cut, and no one will see the line through to the front.  *wink*   The ribbon must be put in place before the top image layer to achieve this closure.

I remember the first time Kristi (Hanna Stamps) emailed me regarding this proposed set.  I told her that Hanna’s shirt needed paint smudges!  So of course, my first image with this Hanna “required the ‘paint’ smudges”!  I plan to be looking smudged some day in the coming weeks as we work on our kitchen renovation.  However  … only Hanna is using shades of pink for her painting!  <grin>  I’m including a close picture of the opening and layers, to allow you to see where the opening occurs, as well as how the layering works with this style.  I hope you’ll join in and make a card for my challenge!  If you use Hanna Stamps products, please add it to your SCS gallery using the keyword, HSCAPR1 !  Also, please link your opening 1/2″ cards here in a comment so that I can check them out!  Have fun!  I’m hoping to see your work!

This is so cool even with paint smudges! And I just finished a card yesterday with a little more than 1/2″ openning on the right. Not Hanna stamp though. I ordered the Hoola moose girl (sorry forgot he name) and it’s still in the USPS system somewhere. Can I link the non-Hanna one here anyway after I take a pic of it?
