Bugs … I mean .. “Hugs to You”!
**giggles** I just adore these ladybugs all in a row! My card was created for the Hanna Stamps Monthly challenge, which is: Purchase the Backyard Dwellers set and make a card on it’s on or in conjunction with any other stamp (this second stamp does not have to be a Hanna). Post your creation to our thread here before February 5th at 7 p.m. EST. You can win TWO stamp sets of your choice at the next Release Party from your entry! Let’s get stampin’ with the bugs!! *grin*
The new “Backyard Dwellers” set from Hanna Stamps is full of buggies that you’ll find in the Spring & Summer. I must admit that the ‘ladybug’ has always seemed to be a ‘cute’ bug to me. Why? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because I remember admiring and touching them as a little girl.
When we were challenged to create a card with the Backyard Dwellers, I really had to think for a little bit. Challenge, accepted! I also included this week’s color challenge, CC200. I don’t usually repeat a challenge from SCS, but when I came upon the ladybugs, revisiting these colors seemed to be a natural choice. Now, I can say that I’ve used Brilliant Blue twice already in 2009!
Spellbinders Wizard and their dies are some of my all-time favorite tools. I used their Ribbon Tags Trio for my sentiment. A Martha Stewart border punch created the lacey borders for the white ladybug layer. It was rather comical here in the studio while I was searching for the just-right ribbon for this project earlier. My very hungry, (i.e. almost grouchy) hubby came into the studio during my search. I was opening storage doors, pulling out plastic bins, tossing a plastic bag of not-right ribbons aside, while he stood there. I was saying something like, “I’m sure that I have the right ribbon! How can I not have enough ribbon?!” His adorable face told ‘such‘ a story of disbelief! Obviously, I missed a superior photo op. ***sigh*** He is such a keeper. Thanks for visiting this weekend! I hope you’re having a delightful time in this early stage of 2009!
