Double-Doozie! A ‘Wee’ Arrggghhh! *plus* Riley Lumberjacks!

HS WeeHana Pirate 530×405

First up is a peek at ‘Wee Hanna’, playing pirate!   She’s actually a paper-doll stamp who comes with costume stamps for being a pirate, a ballerina, a snorkler, and a cheerleader.   You’ll find lots of room for fantasy with this one.

I still had some of Rusty Pickle’s ‘Pirate Princess’ paper, so as soon as I began to just stamp with these images, I knew I had to find it.  First I stamped Wee Hanna & colored her face & hair.  Next, I stamped, colored & cut out the pirate costume & headwrap.  For a change, I used my Ranger Glossy Accents as the adhesive.  (If you’re familiar with Crystal Effects, it’s the same type of dimensional glaze/adhesive.)  Well, now I have found my new paper-piecing adhesive …. bye-bye white stuff.  Tex’s Tip:  If you have ever sampled paper-piecing, it takes very little liquid adhesive, although it does need to be spread completely & thinly to the edges of the paper.  (I use my finger … no fancy tool at all.)

The sentiment was computer-generated to fit my oval punches.  The doodling idea occurred after I had the lower layers of the card finished, and was actually down to permanent assembly.  It was the last element to be added to both the card base and the image layer.  My inspiration for this comes from today’s FS108 challenge at SCS.  This week’s featured stamper is ‘Kelly_H’!

HS Riley Timber 437×530Next up is ‘Timber Riley’!   What a multi-talented moose!  Riley often gives me the opportunity to do something a little more earthy, and I do enjoy the change.  The Cuttlebugged layer is highlighted with a lighter brown pigment ink just to bring out the vertical impressions.   I toyed with the twine for a while before opting for just a knotted wrap.

See the photo corner?  That’s made by cutting off 3 pinecone pieces, gluing them together in a threesome, then cutting to fit as a type of photo corner.  Even though the printed paper is of birch or aspen logs, I just had to use my free resource.   I was prompted to think about something repurposed by the WT207 challenge at SCS … Frugal Finds (use something inexpensive or something recycled .  We have a ‘generous’ pine tree, and cones are plentiful & free … so I’ve repurposed the cone.   I hope you enjoy ‘Timber Riley’!

Both of these sets will be available on Monday night during the Hanna Stamps Release Party!   The party begins at 9 p.m. EST and everyone is invited.  Kristi will be giving away DOUBLE the prizes that she usually offers … so if you like free stamps, you’ll have double the opportunities at this party.  Best of luck to you!
