3-D Daisy Card * Wacky Wednesday #19

RN 3-D daisy tppr 550×181

Good morning, everyone!  It’s time for another Wacky Wednesday Challenge!  This one is hosted by BadSherry herself … so get ready!  Sherry has challenged all of us with a Color Challenge of “pink, purple, and green”.  The cool thing about this color challenge is that we don’t care what papers you use, as long as your primary focus remains on pink, purple, & green.  You choose your favorite papers & inks.  Yay!

I’ve been stamping along to my CD of “IZ” … awesome Hawaiian music.  I credit some of my inspiration to the music, even though I don’t understand 99% of the words, the melodies are wonderful.  And, floral beauty is bountiful on the Hawaiian islands(One of my secret “loves” is the sensual beauty & aroma of nearly all things floral … sigh …. )  Thus, I easily moved into 3-D flowers for this challenge.  It’s actually a simple daisy stamp, but I’ve lifted the petals with my bone folder, as though ‘curling’ ribbons.  Simple beads were generously piled into the flower centers and adhered with Glossy Accents.  Ribbons were adhered as the leaves.  All of this rests atop a layer of ‘misted’ background.

My ‘misted’ background beneath the flowers is very easy to achieve.  Steps include:

  • Stamp background stamp with Distress Peeled Paint.
  • Mist with water in Ranger Mini-Mister.
  • Rn 3-D daisy ironed img 525×165Iron image with craft iron until dry & smooth.  (Click image to enlarge.)
  • Use as you would any other stamped background piece.

The layout comes from the SC236 Sketch Challenge at SCS this week.  I couldn’t resist the urge to cut & 3-D the flowers, as I’ve been hoping to do something like this with this daisy stamp.

I hope you’ll join in the fun and play along with the Wacky Wednesday #19 Challenge this week!  By entering at the Rubbernecker Blog, you’ll have a chance at a 40% savings on Rubbernecker stamps & products!  Whoa!  Not only that, but we would love to see your projects!  Come on along & play with us!  Have a happy week, everyone!
