Happy Birthday Chicks!!

 RN chicks tppr 575×218

Well folks, I couldn’t resist any longer  … I just had to do it.

I took a look at Mothermark’s Teapot Tuesday Challenge, and was compelled to join in the fun!  Oh my goodness, grab your green, purple, and golden beads, find some feathery boas or masks, and join in the Mardi Gras fun with this challenge!

I chose to  play on the idea of feathers, by using sweet little hatching chicks, and feathering the ends of the golden yellow ribbon.   Now if you know me very well, you probably know that I rarely use bright yellows, and I do not wear this color.   Soft, buttery or creamy yellows are more within my comfort level.      😉

Shimmery cardstock (I adore this stuff!) provides the stage for the chicks and sentiment.    The dotted    layer is actually a very pale yellow, sponged with Distress Ink to add more color depth.  The dots are provided by one of my fav background stamps.   Little bitty rhinestones are scattered across the dots and also dot the ‘i’ in the sentiment.   Tex’s Tip:  Fine-tipped tweezers are a great tool for placement of rhinestones, pearls, etc.   They not only enable precise placement, but also eliminate dulling fingerprints over the sparkle or shimmer!

I’m so glad to ‘see’ you here today!  Thanks for spending just a moment of your day … I hope that you’ve found something to inspire your creativity or to bring a smile your way!
