You’re a Hoot!

WWare ur a hoot tppr 585×83

I have a special friend, someone I’ve known all of my life.  We grew up in a tiny farm town together, and to this very day she can make me laugh even when I’m feeling less than cheerful.  I was reminded of that this week, when life has included some tricky stuff, and she called to chat & lift me up.   Neither of us live “back home” anymore, but keeping in touch is easier than ever these days, and I find that to be such a blessing!

So, here’s to my awesome girlfriend, who I have often privately described as a “hoot”!   While at CHA Anaheim, I was tickled to come across a new-to-the-USA stamp company, Woodware USA.   My travelin’ buddy Joan & I adored the many adorable line art stamp sets, and although I basically have a non-existant budget for stamps, I just “had” to cave in and get one.   As it turns out, it’s a wonderful photopolymer stamp set to work with!   The images are very crisp, easily inked & stamped.

I was inspired by the FS159 challenge at SCS for this card … and my Cuttlebug ‘Distressed Stripes’ folder seemed to add the perfect feel of an old tree for this friendly owl.

She’s all dressed up for a special night, with her ‘feather schrug’ of tiny rhinestones.  Tex’s Tip:  Tweezers are such a helpful tool whenever placing rhinestones on your projects.  I have both very fine-tipped tweezers for my littlest rhinestones, and also a pair with a little larger tip, which are good for larger stones & droplets.  Exact placement is so much easier with these handy tools!

So here’s hoping that your week is a “hoot” .. or even 2 or 3 hoots!  Our weatherman just said that if we get 2″ of snow here in the DFW area on Tuesday, we will set an all-time record of the snowiest winter on record here.  Wellllll, I suppose in the interest of being “this close” to that record already, I can grin & bear it if we get it!  LOL    Sounds like a fireplace kinda day on the horizon!  Bundle up, everyone, and warm up those stamps if you can!  Thanks for your visit!
