Grease! Back to the 50’s!!
Thanks for excusing me from blogging recently. I needed that. 😉
I’m back today with my version of the SCS Free For All F4A5 challenge, The Great White Way.
Huh?!? That equates to creating something related to a favorite musical … “not” using the tradtional A2 card shape. Considering the fact that I adore the music from “Grease”, how about this jukebox, ready to play those awesome singles! Admittedly, my most familiar jukebox was at the “Tiger Drive In” in tiny hometown Oklahoma. I know the drive-in is there under a different name, but I’m not sure about the jukebox! LOL
I’ve added a layer of clear acetate beneath this jukebox, cut to fit the light blue contrasting layer. The jukebox was heat embossed in black, and partially paper-pieced to give the amplifier fabric a special touch. Then, 3 “records” were black embossed and popped up beneath the jukebox. Due to the acetate, I’ve had to “give in” a little on the photo to reduce the glare. Thus, the black embossing isn’t really showing up … but then, neither is that glare! hhahahaha … Give a little, get a little, I suppose. For my non-tradional shape, I’ve mimicked the jukebox itself, using my CM Cutting System to create the curved top. Something about this card shouts, clean & simple to me, but I’m sure many peeps would say … oh no … there’s embossing there … so, you get to decide for yourselves!
Thanks Oooooh-ooooooooooo-ooooooooooooh {as sung by by Olivia Newton-John} so much for your visit, those of you who are still out there! I’ve given in to “life” a little more, and blogging just a little less lately. It was/is needed. Thanks for your visit!
