Polished Botanicals

GK Botanicals polishd tppr 590×146

How about a little polished stone today?!   As I was exploring options for a new project, I realized that I haven’t played with glossy paper & alcohol inks in quite a long time.  So, out came the inks, the felt applicators, and glossy paper, ready for that polished make-over.

The main image is actually 2 of the stamps from Gina K’s “Botanicals” stamp set … one of my favorites for sure.  The script was stamped atop a subtle printed paper with Antique Linen Distress ink.   Next, the floral image was stamped with Distress Dusty concord, then stamped again before re-inking.

For the polished stone layers, white glossy paper was dabbed with felt inked with Ranger Alcohol Inks and Gold Mixative, then blended with Ranger Blending Solution.  The “polished stone” technique produces a very distinctive, glossy paper finish … and no two samples ever look just the same.   This time, one of the inks popped out of the nozzle as I was opening the bottle ….  eeeeek!  Let’s just say that it appears that I was trying to do ‘Cheetos’-color polished stone on my finger nails!  This stuff seems determined to stay around for another day or two, but thankfully it doesn’t smear all over everything like the real ‘Cheetos’ evidence tends to do!   LOL

Thanks so much for your visit today!  I hope you’ve found something to inspire your own creativity today!
