Love … … simply

Published by at 3:15 pm under Clean & Simple - CAS,Rubbernecker

It’s a brand new day here!  The only remnants of ice or snow are found in shady areas.  The streets are safe & clear, schools are open, and …. SURPRISE!!   There have been at least two Mockingbirds nearby just singing their hearts out!   Hopefully, they’re calling in their birdie friends, singing their new Hallelujah Chorus of Spring 2011!!!

My card?  Well, I opted for simplicity.  I hadn’t remembered to ink up this favored stamp in quite a while.   Every time I see it, I think of how beautiful it is when embossed.   And so I did.  Then I trimmed it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ….  Originally, I always thought of it as more of a ‘Valentine’ type of stamp.  But not now.

Once it was trimmed, I opted for the simple look of Kraft cardstock … and I chose a 4’x4″ size.  Not a lot of space … still wanted ‘simple’.  So, I smudged the edges & embossed again.  The only additional thing that worked for me was my old favorite … just plain twine.

After today’s Mockingbird chorus?   I’m not really seeing a “Valentine” … but I’m honestly seeing more of a reminder of God’s Love.   It’s simple.  It’s often understated.  And personally, I am so thankful!  So maybe this should be my first “Easter” card this year?

Maybe so.

Enjoy the chorus of today, everyone!

I love the simplicity of this great card with the embossed image as well as the embossed edge. Using the kraft cardstock and the heavy twine as the embellishment is the perfect touch. I think it will be a great card for your valentine….

You’re SO lucky to have your snow GONE Bev! we still have frozen solid mountains of it and today it was 0 degrees – warming up to 12! what a winter!

Love the gold embossed image and the lovely edges too!

We have our chickadees, gold finches, cardinals, bluejays, titmouses, and downy woodpeckers at the bird feeders but not much twitter – they’re too cold!!!

  5. It makes a perfect Easter card, Bev. And its absolutely gorgeous. Love the way you also embossed the edges.

I love this Celtic Love card! The simple craft and ivory touched with gold is really spectacular. Thanks so much for sharing this. I know it will inspire me. I don’t like to copy but I can’t imagine doing anything different or adding/subtracting. It’s perfect!
