New Spring Release & Blog Hop from Outlines Rubber Stamps!
Welcome back, stampy friends! I know I’ve been away, but I thank you for your patience. I’ve been out of state with my family as we bid farewell to a family treasure. I was priviledged to participate in her final journey, along with her children during her final days. During that time, we were all blessed by the truly amazing staff at the Hospice Center. As a result of their genuine caring, loving, and supportive care to both our loved one and to all of the family, I am now enjoying the prospect of creating some special cards for those most incredible people on the staff. Butterflies can often be a symbol of new emergence … metamorphasis … leading to a brand new life ahead.
Now, since this is Outlines very first official Blog Hop, we need to celebrate the new Spring release! We’re giving away two $25 Gift Certificates to the Outlines Store !
Here’s how to win:
Please visit each Blog and leave a comment for each Designer (see list below).
Comments need to be completed by 8PM on Sunday, April 17th.
Two random winners will be selected from folks that left comments on all the blogs.
Winners will be announced on The Outlines Blog on Monday, April 18th.
And so my card features a beautiful trio of butterflies, H-1192 Fanciful, framed with the new K-1185 Fancy Frame, with an appropriate tiny sentiment, “You’re Special”, tucked within the bow/butterfly layers.
The K-1185 Fancy Frame was stamped onto shimmery white cardstock, trimmed, and textured with a cuttlebug folder. A bit of color was added to the raised elements by simply tapping the front of the embossed frame directly onto the Milled Lavendar Distress Ink. The idea was to keep the coloring dappled & scant. A craft knife was used to remove the center of the frame, which was replaced by a bit of printed paper, chosen to coordinate with the butterflies.
The butterflies were much fun to color, purposely to coordinate with the printed paper within the frame. It’s been a little tricky to find creativity since my return, but coloring these butterflies was definitely therapeutic. Once colored, I added Smooch Illuminate and Smooch Grape Soda to the upper layers for subtle shimmer. I love this product! A perfect amount of shimmer that is so easy to apply. Plus, it’s a nice value for the bottle too. Finally, I’ve used Outlines Swarovski Crystals Clear, sizes 5, 9, + 12, as the regal dot embellishments on the butterfly wings. Love the incomparable super sparkle!
And my newest favorite necessary tool? Outlines Picksey Pick-ups! Previously I have used fingers, tweezers, a combination thereof … all to try to wrangle, cajole, sweet-talk crystals/rhinestones/pearls onto a project. Let’s just say that more than a few have “escaped” onto the floor below. Well, nothing escaped from the Picksey Pickups … nothing. They’re bitty droplets of beeswax that are easily pressed around a toothpick to create the perfect pickup tool for stones/pearls!! When touched to an adhesive surface … voila! The gem is perfectly in place … without a fingerprint! Tex’s Tip: If you adore using gems & pearls, Picksey Pickups are oh so cool!
Now I know you’ll enjoy even more new release inspiration from the rest of my design team colleagues. You’re definitely invited to take a tour through their blogs, leave a comment at each blog along the way, including this one, and be entered for a sweet prize! Jeanne Streiff, Jenny Gropp, Lisa Silver, Robin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart, Vicki Garrett, and the Outlines Blog. Happy days to each of you! Thanks so much for being here!
