Black & White Plus!

Welcome to Monday and a brand spankin’ new week!   Can you tell from my topper image what the latest Outlines Rubber Stamps challenge has been?   The Outlines team has been challenged to create using Black & White, with just a splash of one color as an accent.   Well, I felt personally determined to try something new-to-me  …. so I challenged myself to “not” use red.

Special Note: Visit the Outlines Rubber Stamp blog to join the challenge for a chance to win a $25 shopping spree and to see what the rest of the design team has created.

My flower layers are from Oval Posy Lg. G-1022 + Oval Posy Med  E-1023 + Oval Posy Sm.  D-1024 .  The sentiment is from Posy Greeting Centers  F-1049.   The posy sentiment collection offers 6 different commonly used sentiments … so just change the flower center to suit your needs!

The flowers were stamped with black pigment ink onto polka dotted paper and white cardstock.   All white cardstock was dry pressure embossed to follow through with the look of the polka dots from the printed papers.  All flower layers were heat embossed with clear embossing powder before being carefully trimmed.  Layers are securely held with Ranger Glossy Accents.    The flower centers have been accented with Viva Pearl Pen – Black.   Tex’s Tip: Ohhhhh how I do adore these Viva Pearl Pens!  Just my opinion, but I had to share it. My trusty pop-up glue dots hold the flowers in place atop the 5″ square card.

My splash of color element is a huge summery yellow button that has been waiting for just the right project for such a long time!  It’s threaded with closely matched twine and spreads a bit of its color behind the smaller flower as well.

I hope you like this project!   I know you’ll enjoy the B&W inspiration you’ll find at my design team colleague’s blogs, so please drop in to see what they have for you today as well.   Here they are:  Jeanne Streiff, Jenny Gropp, Lisa Silver, Robin Kirkpatrick, Sandy Hulsart, & Vicki Garrett.

Be sure to visit the Outlines blog and join in on the challenge for a chance to win a $25 shopping spree at Outlines Rubber Stamp company.

Now please get out there and have a delightful new week!   I’ll be working at the Great American Scrapbook Convention for this week in Arlington, TX, so I know it’s going to be a great time in Texas!   🙂
