Free Snowballs!!

Happy Weekend, everyone!

It’s been a most unusual & busy week here, and even though I’ve been craving some stampy time, it has happened only in tiny little bits of time.   I’m just not willing to confess exactly how many sittings were given to this wintery card.   But at last, here’s ‘Blake’ the snowman!

In reality, I am oh-so-not a wintery snowy girl … far from it!  But I do have a very small collection stuffed snowmen for December & January decorating.  And, I totally enjoy snowmen stamps.  This one is “Blake”, and he’s brand new to my stamp room this year.

The Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It challenge this week was just too much fun to pass up!   We were to use at least two of the previous WT challenges.   In total, I only used 4 challenges:  WT359  Looking Back, WT349 Baby It’s Cold Outside, WT329 Something Old, Something New, and WT314 Miles of Smiles.   Please …. no laughing here, but it’s very possible that this is the largest combination of challenges I’ve used in one single project.   Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net Yes, I know.   Lots of stampers delight in using a bucketful of challenges … but I typically stick to one, and occasionally will go for the ‘adventure’ and combine two.

On the actual rubber cling stamp, Blake’s sign is without text.  This allows us to have him say whatever suits the card!   Thus, I wrote the ‘Free Snowballs’ text and paper-pieced it onto the sign.   Blake’s scarf is also paper-pieced.   Then I used a 5/8″ circle punch to create the snowballs, and proceeded to have a most glittery time at the stamp table!   Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!  The torn paper layers of ‘snow’ are thoroughly edged with glitter, and the layered snowflake is encrusted with glass shard glitter.  I know it doesn’t show very much in this photo, but Blake is actually a cutout layered onto the scene with dimensional tape.  In reality, there is a lot of dimension and texture on the card packed into this scene.  Trust me!

Okay … time to get this wrapped up – more little ones time ahead here!  Thanks for the short opportunity to share with you today.   Have a marvelous weekend, my friends.   And if you have snow, throw a snowball for me!    (Just keep it there, and we’ll be cool!)  😉
