CT182 * Get Well Soon!

Published by at 1:00 am under Color Throwdown,Rubbernecker

I’m so tickled today!   I finally get to share that I’ve been invited to be the Guest Designer for the fabulous Color Throwdown Challenge this month!   Tammy Hershberger has chosen a super-fun color palette for this week’s challenge.   Check it out!

When I got my first glance at the inspiration photo, the segments of the pin cushion stayed with me.   I knew I wanted to include some type of segmentation or touching triangles in my project.   Here’s the result!

Now I know this starburst technique (as taught by my stampy Texas friend, Shannan Teubner) would be well-suited for a variety of images … but I just “had” to make a blossom from some of the same dsp.  Sadly, the dsp is a retired SU collection … but happy-for-me, it fit the bill perfectly for the CTD182!   The blossom layers are held together with a brad, but I wanted the center of the flower to be a “bee-enticing” shade near the Pumpkin Pie color of the ribbons I’ve added.   As it turns out, a button and some Stickles worked out perfectly!

Alas, I couldn’t use natural lighting here on photography day.   The winds were blowing from here to who-knows-where!   Paper-crafting projects, glamorous hairstyles, and Marilyn Monroe skirts didn’t have a chance!   😉

Be sure to stop by the Color Throwdown to play along!  Here are the blogs of the divinely talented girls of the Color Throwdown for even more inspiration today:
