Can Hardly Believe the News! + Nostalgia via SU!

Hi all!   Have you checked out the ongoing Hope You Can Cling To challenges that are in full swing over at Splitcoaststampers?  It’s a great way to get your creativity fired up, and you’re welcome to join in!

Use a leaf or leaves on your creation is today’s HYCCT1307 Peaceful Leaves challenge.  My all-time favorite leaf stamp is a part of the long-retired Botanicals stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Since I had already browsed through my old favorite stamps, I was naturally tempted to pair the leaf with SU’s Weathered background.

Ahhhhh yes! As long as I was in the throes of stamping nostalgia, the next obvious choice was to use a favorite technique.  Enter gold embossing for the leaf … and why not the edges as well!  As you can see, once started I was having too much fun to stop!

Your card is so elegant and pretty. I don’t think the lovely botanicals and leaves ever go out of style. It’s a shame they retire some of them since the newbies won’t be able to have them in their collections as well.
Thank you for sharing your lovely work! 🙂
