Girly Birthday

Girly Birthday 640
Just for fun .. and for an extra card to have in the stash, here’s a girly little birthday card.  I’ve used a Stampin’ Up! set from the Fall & Winter Collection catalog, called “Fun & Fast Notes”.  If you enjoy coloring your images, this entire set is designed in “line art”, which is basically open images, ready for coloring.  One of the great things about line art is that every time you use the stamps, it’s your choice as to how you would like to fill in the colors!  Choices range from coloring with markers, chalks (pastels), watercoloring, blender pens with inks, or colored pencils with or without odorless mineral spirits, etc.   Whatever mood you’re in, you can create brand new looks each time you use your line art stamps.

I have so many printed papers that are retiring, retired, or simply have been untouched in a long time.   One of my personal challenges will be to begin to incorporate some of those and at the very least, use them for some of my personal cards & projects.  They can bring smiles if they “leave” my 12×12 storage … but first they must escape the files to the new freedom at the stamping table!

Yes … I’ve cuttlebugged the patterned paper, then lightly sponged the embossing with Craft Whisper White, just to bring the words “out” a bit.  The brads are merely silver SU brads that I coated with Versamark, then Heat & Stick Powder, then white glitter.    A little bit of shimmer was added to the cake with Stickles …. it’s all quick & easy.  These are easy to make several, as the style is quick to duplicate, and it’s simply a matter of matching your image to the papers you would like to use.

Card Recipe:  STAMPS==>  SU Fun & Fast Notes;  CARDSTOCK/PAPER==>  SU Petals & Paisleys DS papers, Pretty in Pink;  INKS==>  Noir Black Palette, Versamark;  ACCESSORIES==>  Grosgrain Ribbons (SU), Silver Brads, Heat & Stick Powder, white glitter, SU Signo White Gel Pen, Copic Markers, Stickles, Sakura Stardust pens, Nestabilities dies, Cuttlebug embossing folder.
