Heart 2 Heart * Always
I’ve received my first Stampin’ Up! order from the new Spring/Summer Collection 2008, and finally have had a time to devote to trimming, sealing, mounting, and playing! Actually, the color challenge today at Splitcoaststampers is the reason I’ve chosen these colors. I typically wouldn’t have chosen this combination and took the challenge to see what I could come up with for Apricot Appeal, Rose Red, and Sage Shadow. Between phone calls, hubby visits, errands, and trying to find my creativity for the day, I’m pretty late in posting this one. However, I just could not go to sleep without knowing that it was a finished, photographed project! hahaha (One of those weird little things, I guess.) So here it is, my project for the CC149 (Color Challenge). Actually, I like the color combo enough to perhaps try it again some day. We’ll see!
The hearts are stamped with Craft Rose Red, then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, before being colored in a bit with my AquaPainter, all on Shimmery White cardstock. Oh how I adore my shimmery cardstock! *wink*
The strips & panels were dry embossed using the Cuttlebug & “Textile” embossing folder from eclectic Paperie! After embossing, I brayered Craft Rose Red ink on the Apricot strips, and brayered Craft Apricot Appeal atop the Sage Shadow panel. Being in Texas, (and a bit warm-natured), I often have the ceiling fans on. Thus, drying Craft pigment inks is a quick process here, most of the time. Tex’s Tip: If you don’t have ceiling fans on during cooler weather, just place your Craft inked project in an unused room, turn on the ceiling fan for 10-15 minutes, and the image is much easier to handle … almost dry! *wink*
The organdy ribbon was dyed with the Classic Sage Shadow ink pad by pulling white organdy across the Sage Shadow ink pad, holding it down firmly with a sponge wedge … one of my favorite things to do with ribbon. I hope you enjoy this one! Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful. I like the extra color you put in the hearts. And I need to try the brayer on the CB embossed stuff. I like how clean that is.
So pretty, Tex. I’ve got to try brayering my cb backgrounds…heck, I’ve got to dig my cb out and remember to use it. LOL!
