To a Great ‘Kid’!
Today I played with a couple of my new Inky Antics stamps! This sweet goat stamp was illustrated by Jane Miller for Inky. I can think of several ways to color this one, but today’s goal included greens and browns. So I guess the question could be, “Does a brown goat give chocolate goat’s milk?” I found layout inspiration from today’s Featured Stamper challenge at SCS, FS52. Renee’ (prchvs) had used a very similar layout to feature a floral set, so I’ve changed the entire card focus, relocated the stitching, added some layers, and changed colors.
The crinkly layer uses one of my all-time favorite ways to add texture to a project. I’ve used it on cards, altered notebooks, cans, and altered tins. I cut the cardstock, hold it under running water at the sink, and gently crumple in in my hands until I get the desired amount of wrinkles & weathered appearance. Next, I gently flatten the wet paper on the countertop surface, and dry completely with my heat tool, turning it over a couple of times.
Tex’s Tips: *Uncrumple the soaked paper gently, as it becomes fragile when wet. I do allow some tears depending on what I’m hoping to achieve. *Hold the wet paper to the countertop with wooden tongs, rather than fingers! I hope you enjoy!

oh my gosh! How did I miss this post?? This is ADORABLE!
The goat is cute, but at a first glance I thought it was a dog. I then saw the hooves and I realised it was something else. I wonder who is the kid that this beautiful card was made for. It gives you a feeling of wellness. Thanks for sharing.
That goat is so cute, and you colored it beautifully!! I love the browns and greens….and your sewing!!
