Shimmery & Embossed Happy Birthday!

SC Lumiere TLC185 Monog c-40 specl occa 384×485

I just ‘had’ to play in the Technique Lover’s Challenge today at SCS … TLC185.  This cool technique is fully explained in the forum by Lynn Mercurio (Lynn in St. Louis).  The short explanation is to use a stipple brush to pounce colors and Lumiere paint onto a transparency.  After thorough drying time, emboss the transparency with any dry embossing folder.  (I used my Cuttlebug and the Happy Birthday folder.)  Voila!  You now have a super shimmery, dry embossed transparency to use as a whole on your creation, or cut to the size that you need.  The look is very captivating in person!

SC TLC185 closeup 385×251I chose Kiwi Kiss and Riding Hood Red reinkers for this technique, as I wanted to use the SU Bella Rose paper for my project.  The monogram is from one of my favorite stamps of all, the C-45 JustRite Monogram stamp, using the ‘Special Occasions’ font, all from The Stamp Castle!  Since the dry embossed area already shares the “Happy Birthday” greeting, a simple change of the monogram letters and this card is ready for anyone!

The Stamp Castle is offering a chance to save 14-25% on current merchandise until September 20!  Effective September 20, 2008 The Stamp Castle will be increasing prices on the current line (The New Items Pre-Order section is staying as is).   Our manufacturer has already raised our costs as of Sept. 1st, but we wanted to pass the savings on to you for a little while longer.   So please visit soon, as this is your last chance to save 14-25%!   Also, for orders over $40, use the following steps to get FREE shipping!

  • Use my special code BEV to get FREE shipping for orders of $40+ !
  • And, be sure to select “Priority Shipping” to get the free shipping.
