Strrriike!! — A Challenging 4×4!

HS bowling thintop 515×262

Why is it “challenging”?   I do love to participate in various challenges, but typically, I keep my projects within ‘one’ challenge … until this one!  One of the Virtual Stamp Night Challenges at SCS (FEB09VSNL) this weekend was to use your cutest and tiniest creations made with ‘inchies’.  For those of you not familiar, inchies are 1″x1″ squares of cuteness.  You can use stamps, pictures, designs, or anything you want, but you must use at least 3 of them on your creation … or more.

First of all, I have never purposely used ‘inchies’ on a creation until now, simply because there are so many stampin’ styles, I just haven’t felt inspired to try the 1″ squares until now.  While I did not use tiny stamps, I did use my 1″ square Nestie to cut the proper size even though my images were actually larger.  Just to keep the card in tune with the size of the images, I used a 4″ square format for the card presentation.  Just cut your cardstock 4″X8″, and score in half.   It’s actually a very cool size for a card, and makes a cute difference.

Secondly, the Friday Challenge (HSC57) in the Hanna Stamps forum is to create a project using ‘metal’ as an embellishment.  My black brads are emulating the bowling ball heading toward the pins.  Strrrrriiiiiiike!   Yeah!

The images are all embossed with clear EP, atop either black pigment or rose red pigment ink.  Copic touches were added before glossing the bowling ball and heart on the bag with Glassy Accents for dimension and shine.   On a personal note, we have some sweet former neighbors who love to bowl.  I think Carol might enjoy receiving this!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!   Here’s to a great finish to your weekend!  My hubby is back from his roadtrip to Michigan … it must be better now!  😉

Hi Bev! It’s Mindy. I was the one who said “I know you from your blog” at the Mesquite stamp show. I visit your blog all the time but I’m just a bad commenter….I’ll do better I promise!

I LOVE this card and that bowling set. We don’t even bowl that much but there is just something about it that I love. And a pink bowling ball and bag?? Are you kidding me?? I’d have to have the matching shoes! It’s just so “pink lady”. I love it! Thanks for sharing!
