Here’s to the Harvest Season!

Even though we ‘see’ the harvest season here in Texas a little bit later than other parts of the blessed U.S.A., we still enjoy the coming of slightly cooler temps, fall vegetables, and savor the ‘move’ past the high heat of our Summer season.  Okay … whether or not ‘everyone’ feels this way, it’s definitely the way that ‘I’ see it.   😉

I’ve been wanting to use this stamp for quite a while, but this week’s sketch challenge, SC248, seemed to be the prompt that I was needing.   My natural tendancy does not involve ‘smaller’ single image elements, such as seen in the small squares of this challenge.  As I browsed through my seasonal images, I realized that with a teeny bit of ‘out-of-the-box’ cutting, the ‘maize’ would be just right.  The rest of the card seems to have fallen into place easily.

The rhinestones were standard ‘clear’, until I colored them with my Copic marker 100 (black).  And I’ve shaded the raffia ever so slightly with air brushing.  A wee bit of sparkle was added to the maize with a yellow Spica pen.

Thanks ever so much for your visit today!   Here’s to a blessed first week in October for each of you!   (It’s October????)

P.S.  Psssssssssssssst!!  Do you enjoy stamping challenges?  Well, please check back for sure on Saturday for a very fun sketch challenge!   😉
