“Caws” You’re So Special!!
At last, I can honestly say that Fall has reached North Texas. We’ve been blessed with rains to fill the many ponds dried from the heavy drought of summer’s heat wave. In fact, I drove past the County Sheriff’s pond & property last week, and spotted the llamas “out” of the cooling pond for a change! Throughout the summer, they’ve been hip-high in the pond, just trying to get a little cooling break. (Who could blame them with all of that incredible ‘coat’!)
Since I grew up in the wheat & cattle country of N.W. Oklahoma, I fondly remember hearing the crows “cawing” across the prairie. It’s actually a favorite sound for me … even though I’ve been a “city” girl now, for many more years than I care to admit. Seems like the crows arrive here in Texas late in the year … and I’m only blessed with their cawing/chatter during the Fall. If that was truly the same in Oklahoma, I suppose that I never related their presence with the coming of Fall. Anyway, of course, I just had to have these Rubbernecker crows …. perfect for Fall, and probably to be used for more projects down the line. The larger crows welcome from the front of the card, while the smaller image seemed just right for the interior. The interior sentiment was self-created & printed from my computer.
Here’s to a Happy Fall for all of you! Hoping that you have an opportunity to savor the “caws” of a crow while he beckons his friends above your home. Wave “Howdy” at him for me! Y’all come back soon, please!
