Fishy Birthday Wishes!!

Published by at 10:21 am under Rubbernecker,SCS Challenges

Hello, everyone!   Today I decided to move on away from any season or holiday, and just have a cute birthday card.  Over the weekend, I spent some time with my DD and her little ones.  On Saturday, her 5 year old was getting ready for a friend’s birthday party at a skating rink.   (Yikes!)  I wrapped his gift in white paper, which gave E plenty of space for writing his own message to K, and decorating all sides & surfaces in his own way.  Afterward, he ‘needed’ to make a card to go along with the gift … but of course!  Well, DD had some cute scraps of dsp, and E happily made his personal card for K.   I guess I’ve had a birthday card in my thoughts ever since.     😉      Inspiration comes from many things, right?

I often participate in the featured stamper challenge at SCS, and when I began to plan my card for the FS153 challenge, I actually chose a medium-sized image intended originally as a Valentine image.  But, the more I colored and ‘played’, the more I began to feel that this would be a birthday card anyway.  So, here it is!   I think it would be appropriate for many different people.   With the exception of the ribbon, my embellishments are actually clear on this one, although I punched a circle from the kiwi cardstock to back the clear button for contrast.   The sweet little kitty has been popped up for fun dimension while she “shakes the fin” of the little fishie.

I hope you’ll be able to make some time for yourself and your creativity!  Today is a great day for that here, as we’re still freezing right now, looking for a little warm up by later in the afternoon.    I’m blessed not to be shoveling my way out of the white stuff like so many in the USA, although the temps here have been record-setting.   Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!   My studio blankie has never known such “need” before!   So here’s to warmth, hot cocoa or cider, a toasty fireplace or toasty thoughts, and a blessed day for each of you!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
