 Yes!   You read it correctly!

The Rubbernecker Red Hot Mommas would like to officially welcome you to our first 2010 blog hop … featuring the newest releases from Rubbernecker Stamps!   Mr. Rubbernecker  has been busy … and we’re delighted to show your our first peeks at the newest goodies from Rubbernecker Stamps today.   Plus … YOU could be the winner of your choice of the latest collections, just by leaving a comment here, and on every Red Hot Momma’s blog post along the way.  That’s right!  TWO lucky winners will be able to select their favorite new collection from the newly released categories at Rubbernecker Stamps … simply by leaving a comment on each participating blog!  You’ll find your category selections and participating Red Hot Mommas Blogs below my project! …. So here we go!

My first project presents the new “Weeds #497-10” image.  The weed flower was stamped with pigment ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder.  Foliage & stems were colored direct-to-rubber with marker ink.  Edges were sponged with a contrasting soft yellow ink.   I’ve used pigment ink to soften the edges of the Kraft C/S, as well as the card base & first layer of patterned paper.

That ruffled ribbon border??  Well, I’ll need to add a tutorial for that within the next day or so … just in case you might not have a sewing background.  You won’t believe how easy this can be. …..    😉

The sentiment was first stamped, then thinly trimmed before cutting the “ribbon end” and sponging with soft yellow.  The button anchors the end of the sentiment banner just as I had imagined.  The card above is a 5.25″ square.

~

Now … I’ve taken my original sketch forward, and modified it into a tradional A2 card of 4.25″ x 5.5″ … but the similarities are evident (hopefully).       😉

I’ve switched colors, stamps, and sentiments, while keeping somewhat in touch with my original sketch.  I can’t choose a favorite as yet … these are equally easy to create … It really just depends on your taste as to which inspires your creativity!  Here’s my next project ….

RN Apr BlgHp Blu flrls frnt 421×530

I’ve kept my basic design, yet modified it into an A2 format … still incorporating my ruffled ribbon edge, along with the button-banner sentiment.  The image still features clear-embossed flowers, with a softly edged C-bugged image layer.

Do you have a favorite?  You’re very welcome to chime in … I simply cannot choose, except that I do tend to adore square cards over the A2 as a whole.   Alas, they do cost an extra fee to “send” .. but .. I think they’re worth it!      😉

Now, for even more chances to win your choice of one of the complete collections of Rubbernecker’s newest releases … you will certainly want to hop along to each of the following blogs and leave a comment!  We will post the 2 winners on our blogs this Thursday, by Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time ….   I hope “you’re the winner”!

Now, carry on, & check out the inspiration from our Red Hot Mommas, in no particular order!  Be sure to leave your comment on each blog for your chance to win an entire new collection!

I have no trouble selecting the pink square card. It’s a stunner! As a tip: I’ve noticed the commercial cardmakers have solved the “extra cost for a square envelope” problem by providing a rectangular envelope with the extra space ‘sealed’ off. If they can do it, surely we can, too. A strip of double stick tape strategically placed inside the envelope takes care of it pretty well. This is my first visit to your blog but certainly won’t be my last. For one thing, I want to know the easy way of creating the ruffle. At some earlier time in the future (sounds strange but that is what I meant) I’ll come back and see what other fabulous cards you’ve made. TFS
