Happy 4th of July!! * SC285

 ~

I know … it just a tiny bit early, unless you’re planning for a 4th of July picnic & cookout before the fireworks!   Mmmmmmmm … a basket of fried chicken, hot dogs & burgers grilling, potato salad, fresh garden veggies, plenty of iced tea, chocolate cake, & homemade ice cream, and if we were really lucky, my Aunt’s homemade dinner rolls  … (serious ‘Oklahoma’-style picnics from the past)!

OCL 4th July frnt 530×446

I was tickled & surprised to find that one of my own previous cards was used for this week’s SCS sketch challenge, SC285.  So of course, I had to play!  Then I realized that I have just the right set for July 4th invitations, and the idea was born.

I’ve used machine stitching, glammed up some star punches with glitter, and cut out some cute little images from OCL’s “Patriotic Parade” stamp set, and tied some red & white ribbon around the front, hoping to create some fun!   The card is a 4.25″ square, so it will fit into a standard envelope.  Tex’s Tip:  Actually this one is from Roxie, our sketch challenge guru at SCS.  Create your square card at 4.25″ square.  Then add a 4.25″ X 5″ piece of leftover cardstock to a standard envelope to fill it completely for postal machines.   No square envie postage!  Thanks a buncha, Roxie!

I hope you’ve found a bit of inspiration, and I thank you for your visit!
