It’s Summertime! Treat Yourself!

Isn’t it amazing how we can find inspiration for our paper-crafting in such a wide variety of places?  On July 4th, I spent the afternoon playing in the pool with my grandsons.  One of their close little friends came over with her parents for swimming and the hotdogs & watermelon that followed.  Well, she was wearing the absolute cutest little yellow swimsuit!  Both my DD & I adored the little swim outfit.  It seemed to perfectly match her personality.

So of course, “this” little lady deserves an equally cute yellow swimsuit!   The swimsuit, matching hat, & pink floatie are paper-pieced with Basic Grey’s ‘Porcelain’ papers.  Glossy Accents give the spots on the floatie some extra shine & dimension (best seen in the topper pic).  Then for the frosty look on the yummy ice cream, I’ve added some Distress Stickles.   This design was inspired by the SCS SC289 challenge.  I love both paper-piecing as well as paper-piercing, and added them both today.

Tex’s Tip:  Want to customize your ribbon to coordinate with your papers?  I started out with basic pink & white gingham ribbon, but dragged it across my Distress Ink Scattered Straw pad, to bring it into a tighter coordination with my papers.  Just press down on the ribbon with a sponge while you drag it across you ink pad!

Golly, now I’m thinking I need to call DD and “check” on another pool-play-date with the little guys!  Thanks for your visit & a quick “Hi!”  I hope your finding some inspiration for your own stampin’ creative time this week!
